Project Description

Tayler McCrorie, M.A. LMHC

WASHINGTON STATE LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR (LH60522551)

Tayler McCrorie, M.A. LMHC, is a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH60522551). She completed her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, where she studied relational, psychodynamic and object relations approaches to therapy. Tayler has a background in Political Science and International Affairs, and seeks to understand the influence of cultural systems on a person’s mind, spirit, and body. Her work as an advocacy-based counselor for survivors of domestic violence has influenced her exploration into power and control are used in relationships and the shame and judgment that often follow. This makes her particularly open to and curious about the experience of people who have been marginalized because of race, sexual orientation, gender, ability, and age.

She extends this passion into hope for the next generation. As a Child Mental Health Specialist, Tayler enjoys working with youth of all ages and with parents who are in search of support and guidance. In addition to counseling youth, she enjoys counseling individuals and couples in all stages of the lifespan and with a variety of afflictions. She has also been trained to provide cognitive behavioral therapy, which has proven effectiveness in treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, problematic behaviors, and trauma responses.

She believes that relationships are often the cause of the deepest wounding, but also offer a chance for the greatest healing. Because of this, she strives to enter the counseling relationship with openness, respect, and care in hopes of inviting compassion and acceptance to the unique places of her clients’ pain and path to healthy living.
