We are a group practice of Senior Clinicians, Professional Associates, and Master’s level interns. Our practice is known throughout the community for quality service and diagnostic capabilities. Our practitioners specialize in various modalities and tailored services.

About Us

New Growth Counseling Services is an organization of mental health therapists from a variety of disciplines who joined together in 1993 as a resource for residents of Clallam and Jefferson Counties. All staff members have worked extensively with individuals, families, groups and organizations, and together have accumulated over 55 years of professional service to individuals on the North Olympic Peninsula. We are trained in a variety of treatment techniques. Ongoing staff development and education insures that the latest and most effective methods will be used to assist you. Senior Clinician

Rachel Hardies, M.A., LMHC, is a Washington state Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH60310404). She received her Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado in 2009. Rachel enjoys helping people learn to work with their life challenges in healthier ways and to improve their communication and listening skills. She also enjoys helping parents and caregivers learn different ways of interacting with children and helping families connect and enjoy each other.

Terri Paquin, MSW, LICSW

Terri Paquin, MSW, LICSW

Senior Clinician

Terri Paquin, MSW, LICSW, is a licensed, independent clinical social worker in Washington State (LW 00009763).  She earned her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Washington in Seattle and has been licensed as LCSW in the state of Maine. She is a member of the National Association of Social Work. Terri works with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationship issues, ADHD, and PTSD. She has experience working with sexual and gender diverse individuals and is committed to providing safe environments, where all feel accepted and valued. Terri practices a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Tien Vo, MSW, LICSW

Senior Clinician

Tien Vo, MSW, LICSW, is a licensed independent clinical social worker in Washington State (LW60967687). Tien enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing difficulty adjusting to changes in life, anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal relationship issues. Tien’s approach to therapy is collaborative, where therapist and client work together to identify strengths to foster inspiration and self-compassion and to overcome life’s challenges. Tien utilizes primarily motivational interviewing, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solutions focused treatment modalities to help empower individuals. Tien also has additional experience incorporating expressive arts and drama therapy into the healing process.

Kerrie Buis, MSW, LICSW, is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington, license number LW60919592. Kerrie works with adults and older adults who are experiencing a variety of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personality disorders, and other issues. Kerrie has also received training in issues of gender transition and sexual orientation and is committed to being a safe place where all individuals will be accepted and valued. Kerrie practices a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Kerrie is particularly interested in helping people heal, learn to be better communicators, have better interpersonal relationships, and have more understanding of their emotions and resulting actions.

Rebecca Barrett, MA, LMHC is a Washington State licensed mental health counselor (LH 61335891).  Rebecca enjoys working with adolescents through older adults that are experiencing difficulties with life  changes, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, grief, and communication issues.  She utilizes a combination of modalities including evidence based and solution-focused informed  treatment including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress  tolerance, and interpersonal communication skills. Rebecca has experience working with sexual and  gender diverse individuals. She is committed to providing safe environments, where all feel accepted  and valued. She helps individuals create and meet their goals by providing education, skills building, and  support.

Tamara Odland, M.C., LMHC, is a Washington state Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LH61283069).

I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I am certified in Observed Experiential Integration (OEI), trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (Level II AEDP) and sand-tray therapy. Through my counseling work, I have gained experience in working with depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, relational difficulties, self-esteem, and addictions. I have also been a part of a research project that explored in-depth life stories of veterans who are struggling to transition after their deployments. I am particularly interested in supporting individuals who are dealing with the aftermath of traumatic experiences.
